Hello,

Since OSX on the Mac is based on FreeBSD (I think) is it possible to make a build of DA to work on OSX either server or client?

Regards,
Phil

Not without great pain :) .. I think the mac processors use a different endian (number bits are handled backwards).. so the binary would definately not work. It would have to be implemented as a new OS on it's own, but we have no plans for OSX at this time.

OS X's Darwin is based on part FreeBSD and shares and works directly with that group but is its own OS and completely different. Keep in mind that OS X not only FreeBSD but has traces of NeXT Step with the Mach kernel.

If anything DA should support Darwin (at some point) since is support PPC line as well as x86 processors. This would allow DA to support OS X quite well.

It would be really cool to see DA support Darwin (OS X). We have tons of customers that would use it.
