currently i run centos systems, and i just setup yum.conf to exclude php and anything else i want from upgrading with the package manager.
i came across a method in debian to do this with /etc/apt/preferences, but i'm not sure how the Pin should be.
i just want to target anything with php from being installed/updated. i.e. *php*
does anyone have this setup and could you show me an example?
