hello,

i have a problem :(
we add 2 domains into the DA.

100-schlösser-route.de
and
hörstel-riesenbeck.de

the DA added the zone but not correct.

in /var/named the zone.db looks so:

100-schl│ 720│Mar 30 14:42 │ 4096│Nov 4 00:04

h│ 715│Mar 30 14:42de.db │ 773│Nov 18 10:30

very stupid :)

and in this
h│ 715│Mar 30 14:42de.db │ 773│Nov 18 10:30

the data looks like

$TTL 14400
@ IN SOA xxx. root.hrstel-riesenbeck.de. (
2004033000
10800
3600
1209600
86400 )

hrstel-riesenbeck.de. 14400 IN NS xxx.
hrstel-riesenbeck.de. 14400 IN NS xxx.

ftp 14400 IN A 82.129.8.240
hrstel-riesenbeck.de. 14400 IN A
localhost 14400 IN A
mail 14400 IN A
pop 14400 IN A
www 14400 IN A

hrstel-riesenbeck.de. 14400 IN MX 10 mail

:( can you help fast ? i have read that the zone must be in ACE
string.

like:

hörstel-riesenbeck.de
xn--hrstel-riesenbeck-zzb.de

100-schlösser-route.de
xn--100-schlsser-route-k3b.de

can it be that the same ACE-Sting must be into the httpd.conf ?
a guy tells me something about it.

and when i look into

/usr/local/directadmin/data/users/xyz/

it looks crazy too.

we use redhat 9 and named-9.2.1
DA 1.212
apache-1.3.29 php-4.3.5

please can you try it and fix it fast ?

Hello,

We are having trouble understanding your post.. could you say the problem in one short sentence so we have something to go on? If anyone else sees something that we've missed, please feel free to post.

Mark

hi

ok i try to explain.
or better enter the domain

hörstel-riesenbeck.de

i think the file must look like
hörstel-riesenbeck.de.db

but the zone file looks
h│ 715│Mar 30 14:42de.db

and in the file h│ 715│Mar 30 14:42de.db

root.hrstel-riesenbeck.de. <-- the name is without "ö"

Mark, John...

Is this your bug? Or an incompatibility in the version of named.db with the new extended character sets in domain names.

My guess is that though some browsers can accept the new extended character set domain name the actual conversion to ascii must be in the named system.

I'm sure glad I'm not the guy who needs to figure this one out

hi,

i don´t know what is wrong :(
i thing the charakter "?" make the problems.

cd /var/named/
ls
h?rstel-riesenbeck.de.db
100-schl?sser-route.de.db

have anyone an idee ?

Ok, I've added the bug to the versions system for the next release after this one. It's probably code not handling the special character, but I'll confirm that in a bit.
