FTP can't work

i have centos 5.3 with directadmin custombuild
Apache 2.2.12
MySQL 5.0.67
ProFTPd 1.3.1
FTP connect to server
but long time not replay

I check proftd access log
x.x.x.55 UNKNOWN wcaccount [03/Aug/2009:12:43:56 +0000] "OPTS_UTF8on" 500 -

Could be a firewall error. See if you can use FTP if your firewall is turned off. If that works, ask a question related to your firewall.

And check if an include of /etc/proftpd.vhosts.conf exists in /etc/proftpd.conf.
 
cat /var/log/proftpd.log or cat /var/log/proftpd/proftpd.log
