Automatical reset of apache directory

I have found that my default apache directory (var/www/html) will be automatically reset and rewritten with index.html.* files.

How can I stop that??

Hello,

You mean when apache is upgraded? Not sure .. the "make install" part of the compile does it.. unless there is a "make install" option to not copy the files, I'm not sure if you can avoid it. Make backups I guess

Hmm. Trying to remember if the customapache did it..
I will try to make a clean build of apache to test it!

Since I am making use the default directory to do some redirecctions, if it is automatically filled with apache indexes, I will propably be killed~
