you should use frontpage or dreamviewer for make website.

This is a forum for support who use directadmin panel, usually system admin level, if you use directadmin as customer, you should ask to your service provider where you took your own domain.

Regards

If you use FrontPage to create a website note that you probably won't get support from most webhosting companies; Microsoft no longer allows it to be installed on servers.

I've moved the thread as it's not on-topic for DirectAdmin. Please do not double post. I've deleted the duplicate post.

Langbord...

First a short simple lesson on what a web page is. ( a web site is just one or more web pages)
A web page has 3 basic functioning parts
1-Called HTML, it is a list of instructions of what to display and where to find the item that needs to be displayed.
2-Programming, It can be many types, common like JAVA and PHP, this allows preform logical things like take a user name and password and compare it to one stored if they match, go to page 2, if not, the user gets a nice try message, there are many more examples too....
3- media, things like pictures, video, music, flash, these items are usually located in a folder in your public_HTML or www directory, the HTML above would tell your browser where to find these items and where on your page to place them.
Now, with that overly simple lesson, your first page is probably called index.HTML, if you open the page with a browser and choose view source from the internet explorer menu bar you will see something like <img src= .......
read what follows, it probably says images/mypicture.jpg or many variations.
the first part is the "folder" where it expects to find your photos, the second part is the name of the exact picture it is looking for.
if you can not find the "folder" in your list on your hosting account, create it and then upload ALL of your pictures and graphics to it, this should then have your site showing properly....
There are many great lessons on Google, stay away from dreamweaver if you are new, try evrsoft.com firstpage, there is a free version. also coffeecup.com has many great tools that can make you seem like a pro in no time!

hello,
if you want to go easy, i will recommend you WEBPAGE MAKER software, its easy fast and reliable. Personally when i was a newbie, i built a good website by it. And if you want some real quality work then switch to Dreamweaver, one of the best and well know software.

If you use FrontPage to create a website note that you probably won't get support from most webhosting companies; Microsoft no longer allows it to be installed on servers.

FrontPage client is still a viable web authoring tool when using the FTP method for transferring files. It is the extensions that are not allowed to be installed.

Expression Web took its place as a client but again the FTP method has to be used to publish the site. FTP is built into both clients.

If you want to design yourself web, let using Microsoft FrontPape :D

My nobaloney.net site was originally written with Notepad on Windows and kwrite on Linux. But a lot has changed since then and w'ere now investigating Joomla for moving forward.

The easiest way to get Joomla is from your hosting company if they've already made it available through one of the two single-click installer companies which support DirectAdmin, Installatron (installatron.com), and Softaculous (softaculous.com). Both of these installers offer many other CMS, blog, forum, and other solutions as well.

Jeff, try JA Purity II für J1.6, its free now, with new T3 Framework (!) from Joomlart.
But few old issues are not gone, like multiple JS-libraries when installing different plugins where each brings his owns, and the resulting troubles.

T3/PurityII have many nice features, splittable menues, images for menueitems, movie playable in menue and so on.. nice to play :)

And for the relatively cheap clubsubmission (50usd/y ?) you can get AWS-S3-component :)

With mod_ruid2 I have still a hopping site when first loading, I am still working on it..

Jeff, try JA Purity II für J1.6
Why? Advantages? Disadvantages? Links?

Note I'm not a developer. I have a developer who works for me and though I make final decisions I listen to him carefully first :).

Thanks.

..you can see the modulpositions with ending "?tp=1" to the index.php

be aware that the big templateproducers develop their different frameworks, T3 is only 1 of several..
