Our direct admin has been setup with one Admin account and one reseller account. That is it. There is one site being hosted on the server using the reseller account and we only have one IP address. We are trying to install an SSL cert for this one site however when we click "Install SSL Cert" in the User Panel (while logged in as the reselller) it says we have to own the IP before we can proceed.

When I try to assign the only IP we have to the reseller nothing happens and the status of the IP still says "server". How can I set it up so my one reseller ones my only IP address? Or how can I generate a CSR without IP ownership?

Hello,

If you only have 1 IP address, you have to do it all through the Admin account. It would be installed as a shared server certificate once you get the cert back. Be sure to save the key when you create the csr :)

Thank you for the tip. However when logged in as the admin if I click the "user panel" it says "no data to show". Maybe this is because we only have an admin and one reseller, no users?

How can I move forward? Also when only one user plans to work with Direct Admin how do you recommend setting things up as far as admin, reseller and user accounts go? It seems like we must have done someting wrong with our setup...

The admin would require a domain on his account. You can just create a bogus domain so that you can create the csr and install the shared server certificate.

You haven't done anything wrong, it's more the fact the the admin is using the User Panel to do an admin level task, it's a desgin issue with DA. Generally if you only have 1 IP address, you'd just use the admin account for everything, or else you can install the certificates manually (/etc/httpd/conf/ssl.crt/server.crt and /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.key/server.key)
