Hello,

We're proud to release the DirectAdmin 1.36.1 release candidate.
These will be out for people to test, and once we're satisfied all is well, we'll release it as production.

Some new features to highlight:
Apache owned files in backup and restore
Option to run tally only on bandwidth and item counts.
Ability to add custom mysqldump options
Warnings when deleting Reseller with Users
Use SNI to allow SSL for domains on shared IPs (no longer requires owned IPs)
`top` output in the load checker notification message.

Along with a fairly lengthy list of bug fixes... some important ones:
http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1108
http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1098
http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1102
http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1097
http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1105

There are more of each, but they're not as interesting.
The full list will be available with the full production release of 1.36.1.

To get the RC binaries, login to your Clients Section and click your license ID. Follow the pre-release install instructions.

Note that these binaries will be flagged as 1.36.0 still, but will have the above features.
To confirm, check the build date of the directadmin bianries with:
Code:
cd /usr/local/directadmin
./directadmin o
to make sure it says August 31st.

Is it possible to install the RC version using custombuild? (Because we have a internal DA license from the datacenter where we rent the server, and don't have our own account at directadmin.com/clients)

Thank you! I have just sent you a email with the subject «DirectAdmin RC 1.36.1 (reply via forum)». Great support! :)

I have now installed and tested the new RC version, and it looks good – I have not found any problems.

About the bugfix for AWStats described here: http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1098 It say this: «Done for domains.. not yet completed for subdmoains.»

However, the graphic in AWStats works on subdomains to, not only on the main domains. So it seems you have fixed it for subdomains to? Perfect! :)

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at it.

I've fixed the documentation error. I know I wouldn't have been able to get away without adding support for subdomains, so I added the code shortly after.

I'm hoping to have 1.36.1 released on Monday.

I can't wait for this one since most of my clients have ssl. this could make things easier. I also get DA included with the servers but I can wait till Monday.

Thanks for this.

Just an update, we had a drive failure on our Debian 4 box (which hosts the templates for all Debian systems over the network file system). I'm in the process of installing Debian 4 onto new hardware, but it doesn't seem to want to be installed. I'll continue to fight with it. This will delay the upcoming release of DA.

John

John, maybe it's time to install Debian 5 or Debian 6 box ?
4.0 (etch) is EOL

Hello,

We've already got Debian 5 running on it's own box, as well as a Debian 5 64-bit box. Debian 4 is only for those who still need the old version. We usually shake our fists any anyone who installs a 4 box for a new version of DA these days, but there are many out there with existing installs with the mentality "if it's not broke, don't fix it".. which is true in some respects (minus security).

In any case, I got Debian 4 running late last night (4 iso downloads and several install attemps later).

I'll be going through all completed items one more time later today (the triple check) and likely releasing late tonight, or tomorrow.

I receive this error when i try to upgrade in my panel:

Code:
This is an automated message notifying you that an error has occurred while trying to update the software.
The generated error message is as follows:

Error restoring file /usr/local/directadmin/update.tar.gz :
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
/bin/tar: Child returned status 1
/bin/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
: tar returned error code 512<br>

<br>
Try updating manually: http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=29<br>

What can i do?

I had no problems (Debians), did you try updating via ssh like it suggests? You might receive more details why its failing.

How do i roll back an update to a previous version of DA

Im running debian 4 and have just tried to update to the latest version.

It appears to have failed, and DA will not start.
