I have a CentOS VPS server with DirectAdmin.

I created an host. Host user is admin. Folder owner and group are admin too. I installed joomla 1.6 to public_html. And all files and folder owner are the same, admin.

Admin user have permission in control panel and ftp account. I can change any file. No problem admin right.

But joomla 1.6 folder permission is seem unwritable.

I looked at httpd.conf. User: apache Group: apache.

Is the problem about with suExec or what?

Do you have any sugestion?

Thank you

You can change the permission for those files via ftp/shell . Or use suphp.

First of all use search function or google to find topics on these forums. It has been discussed many times.

Next keywords you can use together or apart: joomla mod_suphp mod_ruid2

If you've got an unmanaged VPS, you'd better ask your VPS provider to help you for free or a fee. Of course, you can hire somebody from these forums, or just google with keywords, I've given you above, to find ready How-To and guides to make it yourself.
