Best apache config

Mysite had 9 miljoen request yesterday and still growing what is the best apache config to let 6000 users connect to the site 24/7 ? the ask for 1 file every few seconds.
 
That's not really a lot, and default configurations should handle it.

I highly recommend "Apache for Dummies"; it explains what each of the settings means in a very easy-to-understand way.

I was reading an article yesterday written by the editor of Linux Journal magazine; he pointed out that their first website, ten years ago, ran on a 486-100, and was easily handling 100,000 hits a day. So I wouldn't worry yet :) .
