Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me how to secure a CentOS 5.5 server running DirectAdmin?

Aside from the default CentOS Firewall, are there any security measures i should know of?

Any tips, advice, tutorials is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hello

I also use 2 3rd Party Software :
- ELS : http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17070
- Update.script : http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22587

These both provide a quick help for common security fixing like changing ssh port, addind ssh wheel user, a couple kernel tweaks, etc... Thx to the 2 authors for ther nice work :)

In addition to them, as Alex said, ConfigServer Security is awesome.
Needs a litle tweaking i find to fit your usage, but a nice package !

Good luck on your server,

Sky
