help with pSpell

I am banging my head here.....can't seem to get thigns to work.

System RedHat 9

This is what I have done:

cd /usr/local/src
wget [url]ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/aspell-0.50.5.tar.gz[/url]
tar xvfz aspell-0.50.5.tar.gz
cd aspell-0.50.5
./configure && make
make install

then, I do:

got pspell installed ((finally))

when i try to restart the httpd, i get the following error and the service won't restart.

Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 79 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libphp4.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: __db185_open

can anyone tell me what this means or what i can do to fix it?
 
RESOLVED!!!

I think there is an issue with the aspell 50.x library's running on Apache1.3

So....after battling, I decided to go back to the older release of aspell and installed aspell-.33.7.1
Also found that when using 33.7.1, a patch (aspell-.33-fix2.diff)has to be installed. All info can be found at: http://aspell.net/old.html

Ohhh, and then during the .configure, I added "--prefix=/usr/local"

ran ./build php and it compiled!

restarted http and it restarted!!

checked my info.php file and there it is!!!

I am a happy camper. If anyone ever has a PSPELL issue, I hope this post will be of help to you.
