can I run Webmin on my DA server as well? (for DNS Replication)

Hi,

I normally use Webmin to manage things on my servers. I am building a DA based machine and I need to use the BIND on this machine for some domains not controlled by DA.

So I wonder is there an easy way to be able to add additional domains to BIND on this machine from within the DA interface?

Or would there be a problem with also running Webmin on this same machine for me to manage these other zone files.

If I were able to run Webmin with no conflicts, that would also allow me to distribute the DNS information to my other server for redundancy (my other server is in a different data center).

Thanks

Webmin is no more dangerous than doing things from a shell account as root.

But that can be pretty dangerous.

DirectAdmin Support's statement on Webmin can be found here.

Oh yes, I know it can be dangerous, my only thing was in regards to conflicts. There are some things I am used to doing in Webmin that I don't think are in DA as they are differently focused products.

I am guessing/hoping with Webmin I can maybe update DA hosted zone files to my slave DNS servers automatically. But that may be asking for too much :)

Thanks again.
