what are the config files on a DA server what i have to edit to let work my DNS server

Now my server is offline, because i am still waiting for update my licence to other IP

Hey,

You should be able to control DNS from within DirectAdmin.

Normally, you do not have to manually edit any DNS files for it to work.

Unless of course, the underlying OS is not working properly.

This may help:

Beetle,

Do you mean you want your nameserver to work while you're waiting for your new license?

If so, then the files to edit are /etc/named.conf and /var/named/* (the /var/named subdirectory includes the zone files, in the format example.com.db).

After editing/creating the proper files you do need to restart bind:

# /etc/rc.d/init.d/named restart

As far as what those files need to look like; well a complete DNS tutorial is well beyond the scope of a forum; even beyond the scope of a specialized forum such as the mailing list sponsored by the folk who wrote BIND.

Usually, there, we recommend books such as the O'Reilly book, "DNS and Bind".
