Hi,

I think this is a wery simple question but I still cannot figure it out. I'm installing a cms called "WebGui" and in the installation guide asks to edit the httpd.conf file. Since I'm installing the software on a free server I'm not sure the httpd.conf file is even reachable. This is how the server path looks like when I connect with the ftp:

0:/domains/lumensu.co.yu/public_html/*.*

Eny suggestions on this? Is there a default and "traditional" path where the httpd.conf file is stored on most servers or it varies from server to server? I think I shoul contact the host support but before I do this any suggestions would be regarded.

thanks:
Sebastian

The httpd.conf file is a system file and is not editable by users (domain owners) for the very good reason that making a change incorrectly can stop the httpd service for all the domains on the server.

You'll have to contact your system administrator, who may or may not be willing to make the change for you, depending on what it entails and how it may affect other users.

Any software package that requires changes to httpd.conf is probably not developed with shared server accounts in mind.
