Hello everyone, very new to this , but have enjoyed reading some of the posts and have learned quite a bit.
I have a quick question regarding pointing a site to another.

htt://abc.com has no content, but I own the domain ( example
I would like it to link direct to
http://123.com which has the content.

so a user who types in
http://abc.com
will only see
http://123.com

I went to http://123.com in DA / Advanced Features / Donain Pointers / Add New Domain Pointer/
I added htt://abc.com --> 123.com

but DA came back with a message it could not be done because abc.com was already on the server. ( which it is )
So how do I remove it , or should I.

Thank you

:confused:

It is because the domain abc.com was already registered on your server. Be sure to remove it from your user account and if you had dns administration, make sure that there are no records remaining for it. Then you should be able to add the domain as a domain pointer.

Thank you, Looks like that worked,
I deleted abc.com and then went to Domain Pointers 123.com
entered
abc.com-->123.com

now I show Source Domain
abc.com

Thank you,

Ok this is a problem for me, explain below.

User wants 2 DA accounts for 2 different domains.

Both domains to have functioning email.

2nd domain parked and to have www. traffic to 1st domain.

DA says no domain already exists when trying to add alias pointer.

Works for me on my domain but my domain is admin account (could this be why).

Is this impossible to do on DA with both accounts on the server?

I'm not sure if I understand you, because to me if a domain has email it's not parked.

So I'm going to ignore that part of your post.

Usually when DA says a domain exists but you think it doesn't it's because you've got DNS set up for it.

Check, and if DNS is set up for the domain, remove the entire zone.

Then you should be able to set up what you want.

my problem is solved doing this.

This may or may not be proper parking but one thing I know is that a few users want this so its in demand, I asked john if he could make a gui switch for it.

The current parking functions need to do stuff with the nameserver and fails when the domain exists on the server, so I am guessing that could be improved also, it could delete old zone first then readd with new values which would stop the fail error.
