FTP Problems

Hello, everytime I try to logon to the FTP site for my website my username and pwd get accepted, then this message comes up saying:

Could not retrieve directory listing for "/"

So I tried changing the initial directory to the one suggested in the tutorial, /domains/yourdomain.com/public_html obviously putting my own data in there, but then I still get the same error.

Can anyone help me with this? The File Manager is getting old fast, especially as I have started using Frontpage...

I am guessing you have got a account from a webhost, and you really need to contact them with the problem it could be one of many things.

unable to open data connection (blocked pasv port)
unable to get dir listing (incorrect dir permissions/ownership)
