Hi,

T try to backup userdate to an other directadmin server with FTP.
I get the error:
On the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx I get the follow error:
Warning: ftp_put(): PORT command successful in - on line 31
Error while uploading admin.tar.gz

All the files are 0 kb.

how can I fix it?

Do you firewall either server?

If so, do your firewalls allow passive ftp connections?

It is the default firewall of fedora core 2
I setup port 20 and 21 tcp and udp

What is the best setting to let the ftp backup working?

I don't know anything about the default Fedora firewall as I don't use it, but I do know that allowing port 20 and port 21 will not allow passive FTP connections. If you're using ipchains firewalling you need to read up on using the PassivePorts directive in the /etc/proftpd.conf file, and using the the IANA registered ephemeral port range both in /etc/proftpd.conf and your firewall.

If you're using an iptables firewall you can use either the kiss firewall or the apf firewall, both discussed in these forums.

Jeff
