**Multiple O.S. Boot**HELP!!!

Hi to all,

I made a partition on my 120 gig hard drive and because im doing a web programming I need windows nt 4 server to be installed.

I already installed windows 98, then windows nt 4 server, and lastly the windows xp. All are ok. However, my main problem is that when I boot the computer, it usually goes to dos prompt and shows the available Operating System choices to which you want to boot. However, the choices only lists two O.S., the windows 98 and win xp, the windows nt 4 server which i already upgraded to service pack 6 isnt showing on the choices. but when I open windows xp, the extended drive i have made is ok upon which the windows nt 4 server is save.

Can you help me please????any ideas on how I should fix this? I really need to fix this as sson as possible I am having a hard time. I want to maximize my disk space coz its big so iwanted 3 o.s. to be installd. I really need the win nt server for my programming. thanx..

What does this have to do with DirectAdmin? Since DA can not be run on windows Operating Systems last time I checked ;)

It would probably be a better idea to get a better boot manager such as lilo instead of what microsoft provides. Or you might try asking your question at the forums at motherboards.org forums.

Hi

I hope I'm answering the right question as the way I read it it is PC related not DA related..

To remove the choice of OS at startup on your PC..

Open the properties on your My computer desktop icon (right click select properties)

Click on the advanced tab

Then go down to startup and recovery and click on settings

Select your choice of Operating System and then untick the "time to display list of Operating Systems" box

Then restart :)

Hope this helps,

Rob

Jmstacey is right this does not pertain to DA.

But to help, do a google search on editing and changing your boot.ini file. It should be on the root of your C: drive. You can manually add an entry for another OS so that it will show up in the boot menu.

Here's a few links to get you started:

You can search google for more.

Don't forget to make a backup copy of boot.ini (save on a floppy disk) before you go messing with it so that you can copy it back if you run into boot problems.
