Hello

I have a problem restarting apache 1.3 via the directadmin's services page.

If I click "restart" I get the following

Stopping httpd: [ OK ] Remaining processes: 1 Stopping httpd: [ OK ] Starting httpd: [ FAILED ]

Also by clicking "start"

Starting httpd: [ FAILED ]

But If I start apache via ssh everything is fine

morpheus# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/httpd restart
Stopping httpd: [ OK ]
Remaining processes: 1
Stopping httpd: [ OK ]
Starting httpd: [ OK ]
morpheus#

Also restarting of apache after creating a site works.

I'm running freebsd 5.3 and directadmin 1.23.4

Has anyone the same problem and perhabs a solution for this?

Regards
Fabrizio

Yes, install Redhat Linux 9, works like a charm...
That's a religious argument.

The only reason I'm bothering to post a reply rather than delete the post is to point out that RHL9 is now three versions behind current, and does not have regular updates.

While Fedory Legacy does produce updates, they do not produce all of them. If you're really going to use RHL9 in a production server you should probably be looking at commercial updates from the Progeny Transition Service.

haha

hahaha, thanks for the reply Jeff, inspiring at the least. I am RDL9 fan so I have stuck with it, I manually update the kernel and all of that fun stuff, once all that is done it is in fact a very reliable system. My "modo" is, "Use what works", if you like yours and it works use it, if it doesn't work, find another. :D
