Trying to assign an IP address to a user's website

I have many users under one reseller account all using a shared IP address. One of these users wants to add an SSL certificate.

No problem, I have an extra IP address for them.

The problem appears when I try to use that IP. This user has four add-on domains in his account all using the shared ip.

When I go to change the IP on his account, DA wants to change the IP on ALL his add-on domains too, not just the one that I want to let him do ssl on.

How do I solve this one?

DA only allows IP selection to the user level. You'll have to give him a new username with the new IP#, and move the site there.

Well that kinda sucks. Any technical reason why it is that way or is that just an oversight on the part of DA's programmers?

Neither or the later, although I don't speak for DA

At the time it was a design decision.

It hasn't created a problem for us. We just give the user another account.
