in /var/log/exim/mainlog

Any ideas?

I had spamassassin enabled, and was getting tons of the "message is frozen" entries - re-commented everything out, and they SEEM to have subsided.

My question is, are all these e-mails that clients claim they're not getting, bottled up on the server someplace? Can they be retrieved?

Someone should be getting email notifications of the errors... You can try searching the whole log for all instances of one of the message ID's, for example:
Code:
cat /var/log/exim/mainlog | grep 1AEF8U-0006bY-1J
which should show you the whole life of the message.

i have the same problemen. have anybody a soluction or a tip to get this message's out of my logs

Hello

Frozen messages generally occur when exim doesn't know what to do with the message. Generally, the receiving mail server is down, a file cannot be written, or something along those lines. Exim will keep trying for a set period of time, before giving up and sending a message to the sender notifying him/her that the email wasn't sent. The error message should be included with the notice.

timeout_frozen_after = 7d

Is the setting that will "purge" frozen emails. 7d (days) is the default, but you can lower it if you want to clear out frozen messages faster.
