I have a couple of questions about the DirectAdmin product.

What is DA written in? PHP, Perl, etc..

Is code partially zend encoded or all? Can custom modules be easily added? Is there an open source developers licence?

How many days after security patches (ie: php, apache) come out are they available for DA users?

I know chrooting cgi's is not a feature yet, but will it eventually make it's way into DA?

Any clean way of migrating to DA from ensim pro?

Oh... and are the packages installed with DA standard packages or are they compiled / modified by DA?

Many Thanks!

Hello,

DirectAdmin is hardcoded in raw c++. This is what gives it it's high performance.

We are constantly adding features, and have plans to allow scripting embedded into the skins. This should allow for custom modules. The are no open source copies of da, but you can get a regular 30 day trial license if you need. (just email [email protected])

We provide the patches as soon as we learn of them and have time to create new rpms. This can generally be from two hours, upto a week or two, depending on the urgency of the update.

yes, chrooting will eventually be added.

There have been a few conversion script written by some of our wonderful clients ;). http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73&highlight=conversion

The packages are standard packages, you can update/modify them if you need to. We have modified vm-pop3d and imap to work with our email setup, so you won't be able to compile those from scratch.
