I am considering moving from a reseller account to a dedicated server with DirectAdmin.

Is there a way to add a new user and give him access to only his home directory? I sure don't want any user having access to other directories.

Thanks,
Dacsoft

Manual jailing isn't advised. Due to the high demand for the feature, user jailing will be a DirectAdmin feature fairly soon.

So does that mean I should not provide shell or FTP access with my accounts if I go with DirectAdmin? :(

Any guess of when it is expected to be available?

Thanks for the help,

Main FTP accounts are jailed by default on Proftpd to /home/username.. Shell current isn't jailed...

I wish I could give you an estimate but its a little too early in development to say. Could be a week, or a month. You can grant SSH/FTP/etc. access to users -- they can't go around the system and do any damage.

Hi,

Did jailed shell access ever get implemented?

If I tick SSH will this be jailed by default these days ?

Cheers.

We're still waiting - supposedly it's done, just hasn't been released yet.

Waiting anxiously!
