I got the same error on a fresh-installed VM due to name resolution problems. I changed the nameservers in the network configuration, restarted Directadmin service and it was ok.

I found the solution! The problem was generated by a backup unpacked in the root's home. I deleted the "domains" folder and everithing is ok now.
