It seems that it gets the error every 4 hours

Old topic, same problems and nobody replied here yet.

I have the same problems, also with the snakeoil.dom.

Apache stopping and does not always want to get back, have a ghost running at /usr/sbin/apache, but not always :S

Wheres the support :/

I still have the exact same problem.

Could anybody come with a solution to this problem? I have to start apache again manually each night to make sure my webserver runs.

Only had DA for 3 months. Not very satisfied with this error/problem

The problem is not with DirectAdmin; DirectAdmin isn't doing anything to shut down Apache.

Are you getting messages in the DirectAdmin message system when Apache is down? Is Apache turned on in your control panel?

Are you seeing errors in your apache error log When DirectAdmin is attempting to restart Apache?

Is DirectAdmin even trying to restart Apache?

When you restart Apache do you do it from DirectAdmin? Or do you do it from the command line?

Jeff

my httpd process has been restarting quite a bit...

It used to be once a day like you guys are describing...and still is for the most part, but checking the logs for the last few days...looks like it is restarting every few hours...

i solved my issue

hi everyone,

i had the similar problem with you guys and i solved mine.

every night at 00:10 my server crashes, apache error log says "caught SIGTERM", directadmin system log says httpd restart fails..

after a lot of searching i saw an entry from a directadmin support crew which says tally forces apache to restart and there are some ways to disable it or bypass it.

anyway here is the entry;

http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=164139&postcount=7

i did the only 2nd one and it worked perfect for me. btw i'm using Apache 2.2.6, DirectAdmin 1.33.7 on centos. i just signed up to post this info, hope helps someone.

and what dose Caught SIGTERM, shutting down mean anyways

why dose this happen

thanks

and what dose Caught SIGTERM, shutting down mean anyways

There are various signals that can get sent to a daemon to change it's behavior; one, called sigterm is a signal which will tell the daemon (in this case, apache) to shut itself down.
why dose this happen
Apache must be either restarted or reloaded whenever any changes are made to any of the apache configuration files. This can happen fairly often on a busy shared server. There was a post earlier today on how to tell DirectAdmin to send a reload rather than a restart when it makes changes to the httpd.conf file.

If this doesn't solve the problem, then it will require an investigation of your server by an experienced systems administrator.

I have the some error

Maybe it's roundcube, but I have uninstall it, only 3 days ago I have update all server to the lastes Lamp. I have disabled save mode on 2 domains.
In the past enabling safemode and without roundcube I have a bit resolved the problem. Now I have some program who need safemode off......
