I have a customer who has deleted a mailing list that they had created in DA, and yet still gets email from it. When I attempt to set up a new email account under the same name, DA stops me with the error message :
There is already a mailing list alias with that name

If there is, it certainly isn't listed in the user panel.

How can I purge this mailing list from the DA server?

Hey Nik,

Majordomo... I haven't had the specific problem that you are but if you really want to remove the list you could look in the directory where Majordomo stores the lists.

On my FreeBSD box it would be /etc/virtual/domain.com/majordomo/lists/

there would be 4-5 files there that start with the name of the list.

Also you would probably want to delete the references to the list in the list.aliases file located /etc/virtual/domain.com/majordomo/

However if this all happened today it's possible that a Cron job will clean it all up tonight.

*wishes for serverwide Mailman GUI* ;)
