Am I done installing?

We're trying to replace our old Ensim servers so we're testing DirectAdmin to see if it meets our needs. We were given a temporary license and installed everything yesterday. But, we're not sure if we are done installing.

The installation guide (http://www.directadmin.com/installguide.html) guide didn't cover everything that needed to be done to install DirectAdmin. After some searching of the forums I found out that there was a "New Install Guide"(http://www.directadmin.com/newinstall.html), not referenced by the install guide, that was supposed to be followed after the initial install. And, then had to search some more to find another guide (http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=36 ), also not referenced by the original install guide, before I could get the basic features up and running.

So, my question is, am I done? Do I need to search through the forums to find some more installation guides that really need to be followed before I start testing?

There are lots of things you can do to update your server, make it more secure, etc. DA is designed for server Admins who know what they want to do and how to do it.

That said, you can probably start testing.

Of course custom changes wouldn't be included in the core installation documentation, but I started getting concerned when I had to go searching for a third set of instructions just to get the core system up and running.

Thanks for your help.

Please explain what you mean by get the core system up and running. Whenever I install directadmin, it pre installs all the necessary software (such as apache, mysql, php, exim, etc.) and makes it so that when I browse to the server I get the apache test page. Everything works right out of the box.

I don't think I have ever followed any instructions other than running the install script.
