Hi,

I am running a centos 4 directadmin server (x86_64), currently its running apache 1.3, php5, mysql5 and dovecot.

I want to move to custombuild because of apache 2.2.

What are the steps which need to be taken in order to do this?

Help is greatly appreciated...

regards,

About the performance - Apache 2.2 is better than Apache 2.0, but if you use Apache 1.3 - you won't see any performance improvements.

I have the same setup (except mysql4) and was going through all 12 pages of the faq thread last night. I opted not to do it because I didn't want to hose my production environment.

If something goes wrong, is it feasible to just ./build all in customapache/ to get things back the way they were? I don't want to be up the creek w/o a paddle in the middle of the night. :)

Also, it doesn't remove the Apache 1.3 /etc/httpd/ files correct?
