Unable to write the .htaccess file

i want to use protect directory plugin in file manager .

and i upload a .htaccess empty file in locatiob .
da give me new error :

There is no such animal.

Are you trying to upload a .htaccess to a directory you have permission to? for instance /domains/YOURDOMAIN.COM/public_html ?

Maybe he meant unable to crate? I've had a lot of trouble crating invisible files; if you can't see them it's hard to put them into the box .
