Freebsd 7.1 64 - DA 1.34.3

After a fresh install I run into the following problems;

Dovecot cannot start
Cannot find script /usr/local/etc/rc.d/dovecot

Exim cannot start
Cannot find script /usr/local/etc/rc.d/exim

Proftpd cannot start
Cannot find script /usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd

So I try to rebuild proftpd with custombuild, here's the result;

Done proftpd.
unsetenv: not found
Restarting ProFTPd.
./build: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd: not found

I checked /usr/local/etc/rc.d and all the stuff is present except these mentioned above.

What to do?

oke, it's been a long night but I fixed it all:

Dovecot wasn't able to bind 143 because of portsentry

Exim, had no right to write in /var/log so I chmodded that to 755

Proftpd was looking for exim.cert which was not available so i removed that section in proftpd.conf

Thats why you should be starting with a fresh copy of freebsd without all the changes....follow install guide next time.

scsi, your right. I used a copy which was provided by my hosting provider. I seems it's not so fresh
