Hello !

We have a serious problem with domains.
From time to time from my client accounts domains are disappearing .Files and directories are still on account but i dont see that domain in domain.list
Client can not add the domain again because directadmin see the dns record in named.conf and zones. So only way its manually add the domain to domain.list
remove the domain and add it again.

The problem is not only on one server but many of them

if anyone has similar problems with the DA?

Regards,
Piotr

The same problem!!

Hi, I have exactly the same situation,, domains just dissapear from the panel and domains' URL shows just a default page, but all the files are there, and it is impossible to create the domain again, it says "domain already exists".
Also, when removing domain from named.conf (to let DA know it does not exist on server...) it recreates it, but at a certain moment it disappears again.

Here are DA logfile entries from time it happens (the incident was at 11:37):
system.log:

010:08:16-13:26:33: removing old lock: ./data/admin/login.hist.lock

All the other logs do not show any suspicious activity. This is so urgent, domains just disappear, this is total disaster, I have about 500 domains, now I have to check them all the time?
Please help.

Login as admin
Go to 'DNS Administration'
Remove the domain that you can't see in the user list
Add the domain again under the user at 'domain setup'.

That's the reason if you delete it manually from named.conf it will be added again.

I have exactly the same problem. It was repeated several time. Sometimes on the next day after domain creation, sometimes after long period domain disappeared unexpectedly . I see not only we have such problems.

Nothing useful in logs. But I have the same lines in the error.log
Code:
2011:03:12-12:02:45: removing old lock: ./data/users/USERNAME/domains.list.lock

pioklo, sych, did you found some solution?
What OS are you using?
I have FreeBSD on my boxes.

I suppose, solution was not founded... it seems DA related bug, because there is no user activity when domain unexpected disappearing. Especially if given, that folder/files and some configs keeps unattached. I think DA support must take it into consideration. It is too serious problem!

I ran into this today too.

2012:10:13-16:01:02: httpd restarted
2012:10:13-16:01:02: named reloaded
2012:10:13-16:01:02: proftpd rereaded

2012:10:13-16:02:02: sshd reloaded
2012:10:13-16:02:02: sshd restarted

and did this to the httpd.conf
# Auto generated apache config file by DirectAdmin version 1.41.1
# Modifying this file is not recommended as any changes you make will be
# overwritten when the user makes any changes to his/her website

# For global config changes that affect all Users, see this guide:

# Frontpage requires these parameters in every httpd.conf file or else
# it won't work.
ServerRoot /etc/httpd

running the task.queue check for domains in domains.list file
It mentioned this:
Domain domain.com was missing from domain's domains.list file. Added to his domains.list.

But the domain was listed in there a 100% sure.
It's even in the backup I took less than an hour before the script ran.

Hello, my first post here.

I have same problem in my DA, version 1.43.0

One account had 4 working domains, but from 3 months in DA one domain disappear. Files on FTP still working, domain in browser working, in httconf its entry about this domain. Emails craeated in this domain still working too, but i can't now delete or add new email cause in account in DA this domain doesn't exist.

In DNS Administration i have entry with this domain.

What can i do to repair this problem?

Ok, i artificially solved the problem.

In:

/usr/local/directadmin/data/users/[myuser]/domains.list

I added another domain 'somedomain.pl' and domains that disappear it show again:) But this 'somedomain.pl' isn't in list in DA and i don't know why.
