666 permissions

Hi there...I'm installing a guestbook and despite changing the permissions for the various files to 666 they are still inaccessible? Basically the posts are being written, because i can see them on the server but they do not appear on the guestbook wall. I think maybe the 666 is being overridden? Any advice would be most welcome!

You probably shouldn't be using a guestbook which requires such insecure permissions. Are they being overridden? We don't host your site so we don't know. Get technical support from your host.
