Today Apache 2.2.23 was released, it is a security and bugfix release. Here is changelog: http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/CHANGES_2.2.23 The new version is already available in custombuild.

is it normal that after update, the apache service was bombing my server? ...

EDIT : found the issue, in the end, on joomla website ... there was somebody that was having fun refreshing with f5 the page, of one of my customers, continuosly, and this was going to bomb the httpd service ...

As far as I know you can also do that with the antiloris patch.
This can be installed by the update.script (see below on the forums).
