I set up a mailing list. How do I go about sending emails? Is there a way to generate an email and send to everyone on list at same time? I don't see anything in the "help" about actually sending email to the list. I see that you can click on the individual email addresses and email them that way. But I want to send to all at once.
Is this possible?

Yes, that's the purpose of a list.

Just send the email to the listname at the domain (for example, [email protected]) and it should go to everyone on the list.

More information about Majordomo mailing lists may be found at: "http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo/".

Information about your list can be found in the list-owner-info file, which DA does NOT include :( .

However I've got a sample copy which you can get here:

How to use majordomo Restrict Post?

I have two majordomo mailing lists under one domain, "board@..." and "members@...". I want to allow members of both lists to post to board@...

If I set up "Restrict Post board members" in the board list, will that allow members of both lists to post to post to board@...?

I think that this is a new thread, I hope that I posted it correctly. I have spent a lot of time researching this problem on the internet without much success.

You could either check the documentation on the majordomo site (see my 62 month-old post above), Or you could check the majordomo-users list.

Or you could try it and post the answer yourself so we'll all know.

RE: How to use majordomo Restrict Post?

I tried it and it worked!

I.e. If you fill two mailing list names in restrict post members of both mailling lists can post the the list being modifed. The format:

Restrict Post: board members

works. Members of both the board@... and the members@... lists can post to board! Whoopee!

In this case both mailing lists were in the same domain.

I'd think they'd have to both be in the same domain, as DirectAdmin maintains Majordomo files on a per-domain basis. But I haven't tested it.

does it must work if we use a subdomain instead of a domain?

like: [email protected]?

If you've created the subdomain as a full domain under your account, yes. However if you've created the subdomain under your current domain, then no, as DirectAdmin subdomains don't include email.
