Hi

When I try to connect to my database via PDO get the error message "could not find driver".

phpinfo shows the below:
Code:
PDO
PDO support	enabled
PDO drivers 	mysql, sqlite

pdo_mysql
PDO Driver for MySQL	enabled
Client API version 	5.5.43

Directive	Local Value	Master Value
pdo_mysql.default_socket	/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock	/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

pdo_sqlite
PDO Driver for SQLite 3.x	enabled
SQLite Library 	3.8.8.3

And here's my code:

PHP:
$PDO = new mysql('app', 'app', 'pass');
PHP:
try {
			$db = new PDO("'mysql:host=localhost;dbname=" . $db . ";charset=utf8', '" . $username . "', '" . $password . "'");
		} catch (PDOException $e) {
			echo $e->getMessage();
		}

When i run
Code:
locate pdo.so
I can't find the extension so i tried installing using
Code:
pecl install pdo_mysql
but got the following output:
Code:
[root@tower ~]# pecl install pdo_mysql

The error was with PHP code,
PHP:
            $db = new PDO("'mysql:host=localhost;dbname=" . $db . ";charset=utf8', '" . $username . "', '" . $password . "'");
was encapsulating ' in the dsn field which meant it was looking for driver 'mysql not driver mysql.

This took 3 hours to figure out. FML.!
