Hello.

Got 2 servers, with Centos 6 an 7.
They all got 2 options in the options.conf:
Code:
maildir_compress=no
mail_compress=no
These are added options by custombuild since they were new since I first installed these servers.

Today I'm installing another new server and I'm only seeing the mail_compress in the options.conf.
The maildir_compress option is not present anymore.

Isn't that used anymore? And if not, why is it not removed from options.conf from the older servers?

Here is mine from a few weeks ago

#Mail Settings
exim=yes
eximconf=yes
eximconf_release=4.5
blockcracking=yes
easy_spam_fighter=yes
spamd=rspamd
sa_update=daily
dovecot=yes
dovecot_conf=yes
mail_compress=yes
pigeonhole=yes

Thank you.
Yep, mine looks the same too.
But in my older Centos 7 and on my Centos 6 server, there is also maildir_compress = no so I wonder if that is gone or why it's not there anymore.
Next to that, I've don't know what exactly does this do so it's still off. It's a fairly new function I guess.

Thank you for trying to help, but I think this needs some answer from DA support or SMtalk.

Because on my other Centos 7 it's still present.

I just would like a decent correct answer to my question from somebody who knows about it.

maildir_compress was renamed to mail_compress in the past :)

So it was not removed then when it changed from directadmin.conf.

Is there a link to as what it does?

hm.. it should not exist in directadmin.conf at all. CB FAQ and “./build opt_help full” have more info on the feature.

Correct, my mistake, they are in the options.conf file. I had it correct in my first message, but made a mistake in that one reply.

I will remove the maildir_compress manually in that case.

Thank you.
