phpmyadmin log in does not work on fresh install

I just had the directadmin control panel installed
by the directadmin staff yesterday.

I created a mysql database.
When I try to log into the phpmyadmin
I get username and password prompts.
No matter what username and password I use
it does not work. I tried the admin or root
, I tried the username and password for that
account (which should work) and it does not work.

I had this problem on another directamin control
panel but the host fixed it. I do not know what
they did. I just had this installed professionally
it should be the latest version.

Apparently this is a problem with these control
panels. Does anyone have a fix?

I have never had this problem on multiple Operating Systems so...
Have you tried the localhost fix? Using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost?
