ASK - Active Spam Killer

Very simply, ask is poorly designed, and will result in your server sending lots of spam.

Notice in the first page (the news section) that some RBLs will block IP#s of servers using ask.

This is exactly as it should be because ask sends an email to every from address, including those that say "don't reply here; we're automated" and those forged (sometimes YOURs, in tens of thousands, or even millions of emails).

Every time ask sends an email it sends a spam. Every time it sends an email to a from address that's been forged; an email address of a non-spammer it's adding to the spam problem. And every time it sends an email to an active non-spammer your IP# will be added to at least several blocklists. At least two of the blocklists used in SpamBlocker will block you for sending collateral spam, as it's called.

There are lots of reasons to not use a challenge-response system, and that's what ask is.

Do some googling.
