Assigning a name server to IP address

How do I assign a nameserver, ie. ns1.domain.com to an IP address xx.xxx.xxx.xx??

First the nameserver must be registered at the registrar where your domain is registered. The way you do that differs from registrar to registrar.

Then in DA you just create A records for it in the domain. For example, for ns1.example.com, you create an a record for ns1 in the example.com zone file.

But it must be registered with the registrar first, or it won't work.
