DNS reset defaults

Each reseller sets/changes his own defaults in his reseller control panel.

Perhaps I'm not sure which specific defaults you mean.

Do you mean the nameservers? The reseller does that using the Nameserver link in the main reseller control panel.

Do you mean the IP#s? The defaults are automatically the IP# assigned to the domain, and cannot be changed.

Do you mean which lines are/are not included in the zone file? That has to be done server wide by the server administrator.

Do you want to start over with a new one file with the defaults? Again, this can be done by the server administrator by deleting the DNS zone and recreating it. Neither the user nor the reseller can reset the DNS zone.

I'm sorry if I was confusing or confused :D.

Hello jlasman,
Never thanked you for your response. Thank you.

Is it correct that i can also put the default mx records in
/usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/custom/dns_mx.conf
Code:
mail=10
mx1.example.com.=20
mx2.example.com.=30

I doubt it, but I don't know.

If you try it be sure to immediately update all your zone files (I leave searching the forums for the way to do that, to the reader), and then check one or more to see if it's a good file.

If not, be prepared to remove it, and fix all the zone files if necessary, manually, and then update the zone files through DirectAdmin again to update the serial numbers, and then restart BIND.
