Enabling XML-RPC to permit links in WP posts

I have some WP blogs set up and have an associate in a links network adding posts with links (with author privileges only). I am told that by enabling the XML-RPC function in Wordpress it should allow this to happen. Instead the link code actually shows up presented on the page instead of the anchor text underlined, etc. The server is not interpreting the links apparently.

I'm told this is not a Wordpress issue but an issue with configuration of the DirectAdmin system at the host servers. That's why I'm here and not at Wordpress...

My web host company uses DirectAdmin and is not sure if their system will permit this. I am told it is quite common.

So my questions are:

Is there an obvious fix to cause the links to present correctly, and what is it?

Is the fix something that any typical hosting company should be able to do or is this a trick feature that only a few can accomodate?

Thank you.
