funny server load, why?

i host a few small websites on my server ( total bandwidth less than 100G/mth), but i found out my server load keep getting up and up recently.

i rebooted my server yesterday due to high load. (about 4) the server became normal after the reboot ( load about 0.1 at that time). fine, today when i check the server again, load became 6+ again.

i just reboot it, the load back to 0.08 now, why is that so? where do i start to check it? :confused:

Give us the first screen of top the next time it happens, before you reboot; perhaps then we can get an idea.

There is also a domain monitoring tool you can find in the 3rd party forum that you may wish to install. If its a user thats causing it that will find it for you and if you set it up will also warn/suspend accounts that go over your specified usage.

thanks, the load shot up to 8 sth just now, but i can't see much information from top command. 98% of my CPU is idle

i just did a reboot and load became 0.01 again, probably i will post again tomorrow.
