Move domains to other nameserver

Hi There,

First of all this is my first post so a little introduction. My name is Roland and from the Netherlands. I manage four webservers for a first aid none profit organization. i took over the management from the previous administrator and started with cleaning up. Al the domains that we host are configured on NS1 and NS2. We have also NS3 to NS8 (Four servers).
To make things more logical i want to move several domains to the servers where the websites are. For example www.ledencrm.nl is managed on NS1 and NS2 but the website is on server 4 (NS7 and NS8).

How do i move the domain to be managed bij NS7 and NS8. Is that possible to do it by myself or do i need my domain registrar for that.

Hello Roland.
My name is Richard and I'm from the Netherlands too.
Nameservers can be managed at 2 places. Mainly at the registrar of your domain where you define what the nameservers for your domain will be.
Then in your DNS configuration, you define the nameservers.

Then there are the RFC's, these are rules or agreements on how to handle DNS servers. It is advised to use nameservers on different locations and different ip addresses.
Sof for example you have ns1 and ns2.ledencrm.nl then it would be very good to have one of both on another server and if possible on another geographical location also.

Back to your question. I don't see ns2 and ns8 for that domain. So you want to move your domain to other nameservers.
In that case you have to change the nameserver ip's and names at your registrar (where your domain is registered). The .nl domains will take up to 2-6 hours to be synced with the nameservers in the Netherlands, so they can be found at the new nameservers.

Agree with Richard , and check your rDNS, its not configured properly

ns2.da-networkdns.nl. TTL=14400 [83.172.163.44] [NO GLUE6]

Those are yours? ore a whitelabel DNS provider ?

You can also consider Multi Server setup of DA, i assume these are all DA machines ?

Name server 1 NS1.da-networkdns.nl 83.172.162.44
Name server 2 NS2.da-networkdns.nl 83.172.163.44

Are the nameservers for multiple domains. ledencrm.nl is one of them. I call this server 1

Name server 1 ns7.da-networkdns.nl 83.172.170.2
Name server 2 ns8.da-networkdns.nl 83.172.171.2

Are on a different server. i call it server 4

@active8 what do you mean by "your rDNS is not configured properly?

What i mean is: Can i configure myself that the domain ledencrm.nl will be handled by NS7 and NS8 without making a multiple server setup? Or do i need to ask my registrar to make the change.
