Hi,

I have direct admin on a debian machine (and yeah direct admin is complied for it)

Now everytime I add a new domain I see in te log,
2005:12:15-19:12:01: cmd: /etc/init.d/named reload >>/dev/null 2>>/dev/null
2005:12:15-19:12:01: Error reloading service named : uid 0 gid 0 : /etc/init.d/named reload >>/dev/null 2>>/dev/null

Now this isn't working and now I'm doing it self by logging in with putty (ssh) on the server as root and I give the command
/etc/init.d/bind reload
and then it works fine for me.

What can I do, so that the reloading back will work?

(Sorry for my bad English! )

found this issue myself, it seems DA is linking to the named init.d file which points to bind9 however is using bind8 itself. I moved named to named old and set up a sym link from named to bind and it now is fully controlable from DA

I found it!

In /etc/init.d the file named was linked to bind9 but that file don't exists so I chanched the link to bind and now I can reload named again from the directadmin interface.

As mentioned above :).

Hopefully something DA will look into and take into account with an update. Stock Debian install seems to have the issue from what I was playing with atleast.

I have the same problem but i cant see any link..

I can just edit named in the /etc/inid.d /

any advise?
