How do I update something like this? On my CentOs 5.2 x64 yum says that 0.9.8b is the latest version. This version has bugs, so I would love to upgrade to j.

Install from source unless someone made an rpm for it.

Have you checked your yum log? If it's been updated recently then it's likely that the version you're running has the fix, backported to the version CentOS 5.2 uses. If you're not sure, ask on the CentOS-users mailing list.
