My configuration: Vista Enterprice, Office 2007 Professional Pro (inkl Outlook 2007). I downloaded the outlook settings in the CMD_EMAIL_POP?domain view. Regardsless of the warnings Vista gave me, I installed this reg-file instead of manually create email account in Outlook 2007, in order to save time.
I booted the computor and opened Outlook, but the email account wasn't there. Either this operation with downloading and installing the reg-file isn't compatible with Vista/Outlook 2007, or I have done something wrong.
If the reg-file isn't compatible - how do I uninstall it?

Thanks!

The download outlook settings is for outlook express not outlook. The link title is misleading.

OK - but if so, then a possible work-around could be to install the reg-files, and then import the accounts via Outlook 2007 import function, or...?

Thanks

Not tested: You could probably install the reg file and then open Outlook and then import settings from Outlook Express. I don't use Outlook or Outlook Express so I don't know.

Importing Outlook Express Mail, Rules, and Address Books into Outlook 2003

  1. Open your UW e-mail account in Microsoft Outlook, select the File menu, and click Import and Export.
  2. In the Import and Export Wizard window, in the Choose an action to perform box, select Import Internet Mail and Addresses, and click Next.
  3. In the Outlook Import Tool window, in the Select the Internet Mail application to import from box, select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x.
  4. Select the appropriate check boxes for Import Mail, Import Rules, and Import Address Book, and click Next.
  5. NOTE: The check boxes you select will depend on what e-mail components you had originally created in Outlook Express for your e-mail account.

  6. In the Import Addresses window, in the Options section, select an import option, and click Finish:

Replace duplicates with items imported: Existing data will be overwritten with the information in the file that is being imported.

Allow duplicates to be created: Existing data will not be overwritten, and duplicates will be added to the current Outlook folder.

Do not import duplicate items: Existing data will be kept, and the duplicate information in the file will not be copied to the current Outlook folder.

  7. After the export is complete, click Save in Inbox if you want a message in your Inbox that logs what was exported, or click OK.
