Hello!

We're moving our licensing database to a more robust centralized cloud system on Sept. 25th, at 1:10pm MDT.

To maintain data integrity and to prevent sync issues, the licensing system will be locked during the migration.
New purchases and updates to client info will be blocked (data reads may still work, not yet sure).
E-Mail and the forum will remain unaffected, and the ticket system should remain unaffected, but once the process starts, we'll do any action needed to get the data synced, and back online quickly. So da.com and the tickets.da.com may be temporary taken offline to keep things simpler (last resort).

As your DA update crons run on the hour (X:00), we've chosen 10minutes past the hour to minimize any negative effect this may have should license/da updates be blocked. We've already run a restore test, and it should take about 20 minutes due to the large amount of data, so if all goes well, it will be available again at 1:30pm MDT.

Payment processor triggers will be given an error to retry later, so subscription payments should be unaffected.
The tickets, help, versions DBs have already been moved to the remote database, so that data won't be affected.
Dns 'A' records of tickets.da, and da.com (likely in stages) be updated to boxes beside the DB in a few days to reduce the minimal lag incurred due to the remote DB access.

Thanks for your patience on this upgrade, and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

John

Update: It's syncing as planned, but going somewhat slower than expected.
Sorry for the delay.
We'll continue to provide updates as we progress.

DBs are up, just dealing with a few other minor issues. I'll push it live now, and sort the minor things as we go.
Please let us know if you spot any issues.

Update: directadmin.com and jbmc-software.com have now been fully moved to the new server.
Should anyone have any issues from the time of this post and onward (Sep 29, 4:17pm MST), please let us know ASAP!
There were a few moments earlier when the cgi-bin/licenseupdate or cgi-bin/daupdate would have thrown errors (sorry about that!), but should be ok now.
