I am sure many here have supported FrontPage server extensions in the past and have now deleted them. What I would like to know is how you explained it to your clients who use FrontPage. Did you explain they could still used the FP client with FTP? Did you give them any directions? Or was it just short to the point and leave them to figure it out on their own? Did you lose many clients?

As part of our regular client notification system we pointed out that FrontPage Extensions were provided by Ready-To-Run Software Inc.under contract with Microsoft, and referred them to the RTR page explanation (rtr.com) which explains their end-of-life status.

We advised them that as part of our regular update procedures FrontPage Extensions would soon cease to work on our servers, and we suggested some alternatives. We also explained that they could continue to use FrontPage to design their pages but that they'd need to use FTP, and the extensions would soon cease to work.

The RTR page (above) made it clear that soon no webhosts would be supprting FrontPage Extensions, but nevertheless, we made it more clear.

We didn't lose any clients. In fact, we gained one nice redesign job :).
