Hello,

I don't knwo if there are other folks here who like me tend to have problems with those BSMTP input errors.

I am using
-Exim
-Spamassassin
-Spamblocker2

Last version of each.

I have removed the .pre files in /etc/mail/spamassassin.

Everything is running smooth EXCEPT sometimes, after a high load on the server the bloody BSMTP error comes back and I have to restart exim to get things back.

So who else has those erors ?
Any idea where they come from ?

They come from overloading the server. That's what happens if you run a large amount of emails through SpamAssassin.

Try more memory.

indeed, the issue showed up after the user backups...

but it kept happening even after they were finished and the load was back to normal.

I will add a exim restart cron task every day at 7 AM...

It's probably related to the use of swap memory. Just because a process finishes doesn't mean swap memory is efficiently released.

And running programs in swap memory means major slowdowns.
